This is a very fun and popular wave sailing spot on the island. When the wind is up the wave sailors draw a crowd of spectators. Southwest winds yield good side-off shore conditions, and sandbars create an area of flat water close in, good for setting up your first jump or two on the way out. The sandbars do change though, so the shore break can sometimes be very close in. This is a long beach and sometimes sailors will scout things out from the sand dunes before deciding exactly where to launch. Certainly for advanced sailors or better.
